Many Consider Charles Grandison Finney
the greatest evangelist since the days of the apostles. Virtually all sermons
and works that are still in existance can be found on the intranet. I have
links to them. Since the days of the great revivals of the 1820's and 1830's
our language has considerably changed. Upon reading his Systematic
Theology I was struck with the depth of his insight but, even though a
college graduate myself, found his language to be extremely difficult to
follow. Many of the words he used to base his theology are now archaic.
I became so frustrated, I reread the copy I had purched marking and outlining
the whole book.
When Finney's Systematic
Theology became available over the intranet, I downloaded it and edited
it so I could understand it better. After all, what good is a great work
if it is virtually unreadable. Several years and 3 revisions later I present
it you. My desire was not to change the content, but to simplify it and
make it easy for you to understand. And by making it readable, hopefully
it will be read. And once read, hopefully it will produce the fruit that
I know this work is capeable of producing.
